Re-branding the entire show as ‘Oscars’? Dumb. If there’s *one* place to stand on ceremony, it’s here. Don’t try to be hip or cool, it doesn’t work. Just lean into the prestige and the tradition.
Who won the awards was fine. No issues with winners. Because all the lead up award shows were consistent, it made this a predictable snoozefest.
Worst presentation of ‘Best Picture’ ever. Stop having random old, senile people present the most important award of the night. It has ruined two presentations in the last decade.
In Memoriam was another shitshow. They had a string quartet, interpretive dancers, then two singers coming up through the stage floor. Just… do less.
Overall, good year for awards. Bad year for the broadcast.
